Day 3 (September 22, 2011)

Today, I went on a company visit to
Fluor Daniel, Alabang
DOST-STII, Bicutan

What I learned?
In the morning, we went to Fluor Daniel in Alabang for our first company visit for the 3rd day. I learned about how important making a good resumé is when it comes to giving a good impression to the company you are applying to. I also learned about the safety measure that needs to be done when trapped inside an elevator.
After our lunch, we went to DOST-STII in Bicutan. They gave us a very short lecture about networking. They also introduced Starbooks and other systems that they have to give information about Science and Technology.

What I liked?
In Fluor Daniel, what I liked most in the tour is when we were able to go to their data center and we were able to learn how to use normal servers and blade servers. The food that they provided us beforehand was also delicious.
What I liked in our tour in DOST-STII is when I learned about the difference between IPv4 and IPv6 during the IT lecture that they gave us. I also liked the informative magazines that they gave us.

What I didn’t like?
In DOST-STII, I was disappointed at how short the discussions were. The topics were not diverse and very limited. Also, when we went to their museum, it was not well-maintained and the ventilation was not good either.
